Common tasks and requirements

NDT-inspector

The NDT inspector performs non-destructive testing of materials and structures, such as ultrasonic, magnetic powder and X-ray inspections. The NDT inspector's job is to detect potential defects and deficiencies that could affect safety and reliability.

Requirements:

  • A technical background (e.g. engineer, technician) is recommended but not mandatory
  • Certification in NDT inspection methods (e.g. UT, MT, RT)
  • Experience in industrial inspection tasks is seen as an advantage

Pressure equipment inspector

The pressure equipment inspector is responsible for inspecting and certifying pressure equipment. This includes assessing the safety and serviceability of equipment and carrying out periodic inspections.

Requirements:

  • Technical education (mechanical engineer or DI)
  • Understanding of regulations and standards relating to pressure equipment
  • Work experience in a technical field e.g. industrial manufacturing, machine shop or quality management min. 5 years
  • Experience in pressure equipment inspection is seen as an advantage

Inspector of extinguishing systems

An inspector of extinguishing systems carries out inspections and verifications of fire-fighting systems. This includes ensuring that the equipment is properly installed and in working order.

Requirements:

  • Training in fire safety or engineering
  • Certification for the inspection of fire protection systems
  • Experience in the installation or inspection of fire-fighting equipment is seen as an advantage

Electrical inspector

The electrical inspector is responsible for inspecting electrical installations and systems. They ensure that installations meet safety requirements and comply with regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education in electrical engineering (e.g. electrical engineer)
  • Qualification as an electrical inspector (e.g. S1 or S2)
  • Experience in electrical installation inspection is seen as an advantage

Auditor

The auditor carries out assessments of systems, processes and practices. The auditor's job is to assess whether the organisation's activities comply with the requirements of the standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant education (e.g. technician, engineer, economist)
  • Strong knowledge of management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • Previous qualification as a principal auditor is seen as an advantage

DT-laboratory inspector

A DT laboratory inspector will carry out Destructive Testing (DT) in the DT laboratory. Duties include testing and analysing the strength properties of materials and components and preparing reports on the test results.

Requirements:

  • Technical education (e.g. materials engineering)
  • Understanding of destructive testing methods and standards
  • Experience in laboratory testing and analysis is seen as an advantage

QA/QC-supervisor

QA/QC-supervisor ensures that the products, services and production processes meet the quality requirements and standards of the client. QA/QC-supervisor works in cooperation with the client's project organisation and is responsible for planning and carrying out inspections and tests and preparing quality assurance documentation.

Requirements:

  • Relevant technical education (e.g. DI, engineer or technician)
  • Experience in quality assurance and quality control tasks
  • Good analytical and documentation skills

Vehicle Inspector

A vehicle inspector carries out inspections of cars and other vehicles at the DEKRA Katsastus inspection station. The duties include checking the technical condition, safety and emissions of vehicles, advising customers and preparing reports.

Requirements:

  • Training in the automotive sector (e.g. automotive or mechanical engineer, automotive or mechanical technician, professional qualification in car mechanics)
  • Vehicle inspector qualification
  • At least 6 months' experience in vehicle maintenance or repair
  • Fluent Finnish language skills. Other languages are a bonus.
